Family: Berberidaceae Common names: Mayapple, Devil’s Apple, Hog-apple, Indian Apple, American Mandrake, American May Apple, Racoonberry, Wild Lemon... Some Common Uses: used for treatment of skin irritants and warts. Internally a very small amount may be used as a laxative. Improper use of this plant can have disastrous results. Sometimes a tea made from the bark and roots has been used to treat constipation.
